Research Interests

Molecular Diagnostics and DNA design

Designing DNA probes for various nucleic amplification tests as well as for other means of identifying nucleic acids is fascinating to me. With the help of computational tools, I have made programs to design DNA for use in complex PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) as well as for single molecular FISH (Flourescence in situ Hybridization). Check out some of my publications to see these diagnostics in action.

Accessibility of Computational Research Tools

By making research computational tools in such a way that they can be utilized without the expertise of a computer scientist or code developer, we can enable more research and the potential for a more diverse group of researchers, perhaps experts in many fields.
